Former Afghan captain Rashid Khan rewritten history in the Big Bash League (BBL) with a record 6:17 for the Adelaide Strikers on Wednesday at the Gabba.
The Afghan leg spinner sacked Brisbane Heat thugs Sam Heazlett (0) and Jake Lehmann (0) in back-to-back deliveries in his second over, with Lachlan Pfeffer (23 of 24) running out of the team's first ball as part of a rare game -Hat trick.
Khan pocketed another wicket in his following over when Will Prestwidge was caught on a duck.
Leaving the BBL for worldwide engagements, the bowler picked up the third-best bowling numbers in the league's historical past when he took three extra wickets in his fourth and final time to keep Brisbane down to 90 and win for the strikers to seal.
His contribution with the bat was also exceptional within the game before being rolled in an odd style by Mujeeb Ur Rahman (1-28) to end his four-ball innings with 13 runs.
Khan's efficiency helped his crew reach fifth place, staggering in the back.
