The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced Pakistan's 15-member squad for the upcoming ACC U19 Asia Cup 2023, scheduled to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this month.
In a much-awaited move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ACC U19 Asia Cup 2023, scheduled to be held in Dubai from December 8 to 17. Led by Saad Baig, the team will compete against seven other nations in this prestigious tournament.
The junior selection committee led by Sohail Tanvir has finalized the 15-member squad for the eight-team tournament scheduled from December 8 to 17.
Saad Baig, who captained the Pakistan U19 team in the home series against Sri Lanka and the tour to Bangladesh earlier this year, will continue to lead the team in the tournament.
Pakistan U19 is placed in Group A alongside Afghanistan U19, India U19 and Nepal U19. They will play their first game of the tournament against Nepal on December 8th, followed by games against India and Afghanistan on December 10th and 12th respectively.
Legendary batsman Mohammad Yousuf, who was appointed under-19 head coach in November, will take charge of his first assignment.
It is to be noted that the PCB held a training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Center in Karachi from November 24 where many players showcased their skills to ensure selection in the squad.
Before selecting the squad, Pakistan U19 players had gathered for a training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Center in Karachi since November 24. The 15-man squad will now head to Dubai on December 6th.
