Pakistan lost by a huge margin of 228 runs to India yesterday in the Super Four match in the Asia Cup. All the bowlers of Pakistan were expensive and clueless as India scored 356 runs in 50 overs losing just 2 wickets. All the batters failed after coming down to chase. Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja criticized the Pakistani bowlers.
Ramiz said the mentality of the Pakistan bowlers is not right at all.=. No one could do well with the ball. Despite getting one wicket each, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan had an economy rate of over 7. All except Naseem Shah had an economy of more than 6. Ramiz questioned the mentality of the bowlers without blaming Pakistan captain Babar Azam after the poor performance.
On his YouTube channel, Ramiz said, “Captain Babar is criticized a lot but to me the negative mindset of Pakistani bowlers is clear. If they can't set the fielding themselves, and don't keep slips when they need it, what is Babar's fault? The mentality of the bowlers is not like that of wicket-takers. They gave singles to a batter like Kohli by sending the fielder to the boundary in the first over! Pakistan have a lot of work to do with the bowling.”
The Indian pacers were excellent when the Pakistani fast bowlers gave away runs. Pakistan batters struggled a lot in front of the line-length of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur. Especially the pacers' swing seam movement was eye-catching. At the same time, the batters had no answer to the spinner Kuldeep Yadav's bowling. Overall, India's bowling was top-notch.
Ramiz did not forget to praise Indian bowlers. He added, “India's bowling was excellent. The swing seam movement was superb with the ball hitting the right spot. Pakistan batters had no clue how to tackle them.”
