There were two Bangladeshi players featuring in the opening day of Lankan Premier League (LPL). But both of them - Towhid Hridoy and Mustafizur Rahman had one of the worst outings ever. Kandy Falcons beat Dambulla Sixers to kick off the LPL season.

Bangladeshi batter Towhid Hridoy got chance at number 4 in Dambulla Sixers but he couldn’t fill up the expectations of the team management as he fell on a LBW call for 2 off 1. The umpire at first glance didn't give it out but Kandy Falcons' captain Wanindu Hasaranga reviewed the decision and got the wicket.

On the contrast, Mustafizur Rahman played for Kandy Falcons. But he too didn't have a great day for the franchise. He started his spell well by picking up a wicket in the first ball. He removed Mohammad Harris in the fourth over of the innings. However, in the next over he was expensive and leaked runs. In the 16th over, his captain again gave him the ball and he gave away 23 runs to end up with 43 runs off his 4 over quota. And saw his team losing the game by 6 wickets and more than 2 overs spare.
