Man of the matchYash Dhull (India)

India A thumped Bangladesh A by 51 runs and booked their tickets for the final of ACC Men's Emerging Asia Cup 2023. Yash Dhull's fifty and Nishant Sindhu's 5 far helped India A win the semifinal

Earlier the day of semi-final, Bangladesh A team won the toss and opted to bowl first on a spicy deck. After being put into bat first, India had a sterile start. Courtesy to some breath taking bowling from the Bangladeshi bowlers. The openers could manage to add only 29 to the tally Tanzim Hasan Sakib struck as he got rid of Sai Sudharsan. The opener Abhishek Sharma struggled horribly as he couldn’t find his hands well. He consumed 63 balls only to score 34. Skipper Saif Hasan sent Nikin Jose packing for 17 off 29 deliveries and India were crumbling on 78-3 after 19.5 overs.

Middle order batter Nishant Sindhu couldn’t stay long at the crease as the left armer Rakibul Hasan got him. The highly rated power hitter Riyan Parag was knocked over by a beauty from Tanzim Hasan Sakib. Dhruv Jurel and Harshit Rana all flopped and India were fumbling at the middle. But one man helped them post a competitive total. None other than the skipper Yash Dhull. He was the only batter from Indian batting lineup who seemed to be fluent at the middle despite his partners were failing miserably. He made a fantastic and game changing 66 off 85 deliveries before seeing himself in the hands of Rakibul Hasan in run of play game. However India managed to score 211 on the board with the help of some lusty blows from Manav Suthar.

Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rakibul Hasan all of them picked up two wickets apiece. While Soumya Sarkar, Ripon Mondol and Saif Hasan too were among the wickets with their solitary one.

Chasing 212, Bangladesh started off to a flier. Courtesy Naim Sheikh for his audacious shots. He smacked four boundaries in the first over of the innings off Harshit Rana. The openers gave Bangladesh a decent start. Tanzid Hasan Tamim made a serious 51 off 56, while his partner Naim Sheikh scored 38 off 40 and the openers added 70 to the tally. Bangladesh had a little collapse as they lost their openers and Zakir Hasan in span of 5 overs and were marginalised to 100-3.

Saif had some at the middle but couldn’t do much. Bangladesh lost the plot since then. And lost all of the wickets in spand of only 50 runs. Indian bowlers ran riot through the middle line up of Bangladesh and Bangladesh had no answer to give.

Nishant Sindhu were the star of his horrible collapse and the hero for India A. He picked up 5 wickets and gave only 20 runs in his match winning spell. While Manav Suthar too helped him with his 3 scalps.
