Nine-man Australia beat Namibia by 7 wickets in their first T20 World Cup warm-up match. David Warner scored an unbeaten 54-run innings off 21 balls.

Australia won the toss and decided to field. Captain Mitchell Marsh did not field the entire first innings due to not recovering from injury fully. Australia's head coach Andrew McDonald, coaches Brad Hodge and Andre Borovec, and national selector George Bailey were among the four replacements on the pitch at one point. When play started, Bailey and fielding coach Borovec were the preferred substitutes.

Wicket-keeper Zane Green's innings of 38 runs from 30 deliveries, Malan Kruger's 18 runs from 11 balls made Namibia score 119 runs on the scoreboard. Josh Hazlewood was excellent with the ball. He gave 20 dots after bowling 4 overs. He conceded only 5 runs and got 2 wickets. Adam Zampa also got maximum three wickets.

In response, Marsh came down to bat to open with David Warner. The captain of Australia was run out after scoring 18 runs off 14 balls. Tim David played an innings of 23 runs off 16 balls. But Warner was fabulous. Warner played an unbeaten innings of 54 runs off 21 balls at a strike rate of 257.14 with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Australia won the match in just 10 overs.

Australia's second warm-up match is scheduled for Thursday against the West Indies, the hosts.
