The third round of the National Cricket League (NCL) 2023 saw thrilling performances on Day 2, with Sajjadul Haque and Iftakher Hossain Ifti both scoring centuries and Mahedi Hasan claiming a crucial five-wicket haul.

In Sylhet, Khulna resumed their first innings at 358/6 and managed to push their total to 376 before being bowled out, thanks to a disciplined spell by Dhaka Metro’s Fahim Hasan, who took 4 wickets. Chasing Khulna's score, Dhaka Metro struggled and were bowled out for 210, with captain Naim Sheikh top-scoring with a gritty 54 off 105 balls. Mahedi Hasan’s impressive 5-wicket haul for Khulna played a key role in restricting Metro. At stumps, Metro were 12/0 in their second innings, trailing by 154 runs.

In Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram started Day 2 at 107/1 and went on to post a strong total of 371. Sajjadul Haque led with a century, scoring 139, while Parvez Hossain Emon narrowly missed his century with a stellar 95. For Dhaka Division, Ripon Mondol, Anamul Haque Bijoy, and Shuvagata Hom each claimed 2 wickets. Dhaka responded with 22/0 at the close of play.

Meanwhile, in Bogura, Sylhet Division made 189 in their first innings, securing a slim 31-run lead over Rangpur. Amit Hasan’s 57 anchored the innings, while Rangpur’s Robiul Haque took 3 wickets. Rangpur started their second innings poorly, ending Day 2 at 66/5 with just a 35-run lead as Sylhet’s Tofael Ahmed scalped 3 wickets.

Finally, at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar, Barishal posted 205 in their first innings despite a brilliant 116-run knock by Iftikhar Hossai. Rajshahi’s Walid picked up 4 wickets. In response, Rajshahi ended the day at 0/0.
