Bangladesh women’s team got an unforgettable victory by beating South Africa by 13 runs in the first T20I match on the tour of South Africa. With such a victory, Bangladesh took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. 

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first at Willowmoore Park in Benoni. Two openers Shamima Sultana and Murshida Khatun played good from the start. 44 runs came from the opening pair. Shamima got out after playing an innings of 24 runs off 24 balls.

After that, Murshida continued to move forward with Sobhana Mostary. Murshida was very fluent with the bat. As a result of his great batting, Bangladesh began to dream of a big collection. Sobhana did not last long at the crease. Sobhana got out after scoring 16 runs off 17 balls for the team's 83 runs.

After that, the innings of Bangladesh progressed with the bat of the captain Nigar Sultana Joti and Murshida. Joti attacked towards the end. Murshida was also very eloquent. Due to the effective batting of the two, Bangladesh put up a challenging collection. Murshida survived until the end by playing a brilliant innings of 62 runs off 59 balls. On the other hand, Jyoti was unbeaten with a cameo of 34 runs off 21 balls. Bangladesh scored 149 runs after losing 2 wickets at the end of the scheduled 20 overs.

Nondumiso Shangase and Eliz-mari Marx took 1 wicket each for South Africa.

In reply, Anneke Bosch and Tazmin Brits gave South Africa a flying start. They were attacking in the beginning, and the team's work was greatly advanced by the two. 69 runs came from the opening pair. Brits got out after scoring 30 runs off 26 balls.

Bosch continued her innings. She was increasing the team's runs by keeping one edge with his fluent batting. The Proteas opener continued to increase the runs with all the spectacular shots around the wicket.

She hit a fifty. No one on the other end could last very long. Bosch got out at the team’s 123 runs after scoring 67 runs from 49 balls. From there the game started to turn around. Shorna Akter changed the whole scenario with the ball in hand. The simple equation of scoring 49 runs with 8 wickets in 5 overs turned into the complex equation of touching the Everest of 24 runs with 4 wickets in one over. The South African players could not find the solution by combining the formulas in that equation. In the last over, Shorna took 2 wickets with leg spin, giving 10 runs and she gave Bangladesh a great victory by picking up five wickets and crushing South Africa almost single-handedly. Bangladesh got a great victory by 13 runs in a great comeback. 

Shorna took 5 wickets for Bangladesh. Besides, Rabeya Khan, Nahida Akter, and Fahima Khatun gor 1 wicket each. 

As a result of this victory, Bangladesh now lead 1-0 in the three-match T20I series.
