Pakistan cricket team captain Mohammad Rizwan has etched his name into the history books by leading Pakistan to a dominant 3-0 ODI series whitewash over South Africa in their own backyard.

Rizwan joins an exclusive group of Asian captains, including Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Mahela Jayawardene, who have achieved this rare feat of whitewashing a SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia) team in their home conditions.

This impressive triumph showcases Pakistan's resurgence in 50-over cricket and highlights Rizwan’s growing leadership. The list of Asian captains to achieve this milestone now reads:

Since taking over the ODI captaincy, Rizwan has had a stellar record, leading Pakistan in six ODIs and winning five of them. While Pakistan lost the T20I series to South Africa earlier, they bounced back in commanding fashion in the ODI format, sealing the series with a comprehensive clean sweep.

The third ODI between Pakistan and South Africa, played under challenging conditions with rain reducing the match to 47 overs per side, saw Pakistan put up an impressive performance. South Africa opted to bowl first, but Pakistan took full advantage of the opportunity.

Young opener Saim Ayub was the star of the show, smashing his second century of the series. He was well supported by skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, both of whom contributed crucial half-centuries. Contributions from Agha Salman and Tayyab Tahir in the closing stages lifted Pakistan to a challenging total of 308/9.

Chasing a revised target of 308 under the DLS method, South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen played a stunning knock of 81 off just 43 balls, keeping the Proteas in the contest. However, Pakistan's bowlers maintained control, eventually dismissing South Africa for 271 in 42 overs, securing a comfortable 37-run win.
