Fans of cricket in Bangladesh have long praised Mohammad Ashraful for how talented he is and how good he plays.  But now he's about to take on a new challenge: coaching.  It is said that the former captain of the national team has been offered the job of batting coach for the Bangladesh women's team.  If he gets the job, this could be a big step in his career after playing, marking the start of his full-time coaching job at the international level.

Ashraful didn't waste any time getting started as a coach after he stopped playing professional cricket in 2023.  Several professional coaching classes helped him build his skills, which makes him a good candidate to teach the next generation.

He became a well-known coach after being hired as an assistant coach for the Rangpur Riders in the Global Super League.  Together with head coach Mickey Arthur, he led Rangpur to victory and helped them win the title.  Soon after this success, Ashraful kept coaching in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He then went to domestic cricket and was in charge of both men's and women's teams in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).  Men's DPL: Head coach of Dhanmondi Cricket Club, helping them get off to a good start; Women's DPL: Head coach of Gulshan Youth Club, helping them win five of their seven games. His great performance in these events has now made this exciting new chance possible.

Women’s cricket in Bangladesh has been getting better at the world level.  Now that the ICC has given them Test standing, they are trying to improve their batting, which has been a problem.  Even though their batting has been strong in the past, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) thinks Ashraful is the best person to help them build a strong batting squad.

Ashraful will be asked to improve the women's batting order before big international tournaments if he takes the job.  His skill as a top-order batter and his knowledge as a coach could have a big effect on how well the team does.
