Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir spoke about his choice of openers for the Pakistan team in the T20 format of the game who can make an impact at the top of the order and set the tone for the middle order batters.

Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Amir has suggested a revamp of Pakistan's opening pair of T20 International (T20I).

During a recent conversation on a local news channel, Amir expressed his preference for a change in the opening combination.

Amir pointed out the importance of the first overs in a T20 match and stressed the need for batsmen at the top of the order.

While speaking on a local news channel recently, Mohammad Amir stated that he would prefer someone else and underlined the importance of batsmen at the top of the order, citing the importance of the powerplay in a Twenty20 competition, He chose Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman as openers.

“I will choose Fakhar and Saim as openers, I will not even keep Babar and Rizwan as openers. Since six overs when batting and six overs when bowling are extremely important in T20, you have to have an influence from the start in the powerplay. Saim and Fakhar are influential players,” said Mohammed Amir.

Amir stressed the importance of a dynamic start and expressed his belief that Saim and Fakhar have the necessary qualities to provide the necessary momentum in the Powerplay overs.
