Harry Brook has made it tough for Joe Root to stay at the top in ICC Test batting rankings. While Protea all-rounder Marco Jansen has catapulted to second spot in the latest Test all-rounder rankings.

Marco JansenBrook smashed a superb 171 during the first innings of England's eight-wicket victory over New Zealand in Christchurch and claimed two spots to move to second on the updated rankings for Test batters. But Indian youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal has dropped to fourth. Kamindu Mendis has gained two spots to move to seventh for Test batters.

England captain Ben Stokes upped seven places to 34th, while Protea skipper Temba Bavuma has reached to his career-best ratings. He reached to tenth position in the updated Test batting rankings.

Protea speedster Marco Jansen took 11 wickets for the match, including an outstanding spell of 7/13 in the first innings which rattled Sri Lanka to their lowest ever Test total, 42.

Jansen has reached to his career-best ratings as he became the second best all-rounder in Test rankings.

Sri Lanka Pacer Vishwa Fernando has upped four spots to 29th was on of the big improvera on the bowling ranks, while England duo Brydon Carse upped 21 places to 43rd and Shoaib Bashir has reached to 48th.

Indian ace paceman Jasprit Bumrah has kept the top position in the Test bowling rankings.
