Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have confirmed their retention list ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, with key players like West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, and Indian fast bowler Mayank Yadav set to stay. According to reports by ESPNcricinfo, LSG will also retain uncapped players Ayush Badoni and Mohsin Khan, strengthening their core for the upcoming season.
Nicholas Pooran, who was acquired for ₹16 crore in the IPL 2023 auction, has proven his value as a power hitter and as a vice-captain, making him a crucial retention for LSG. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, known for his consistency, has earned a spot in India’s T20I team and continues to be a key asset for the franchise. Meanwhile, Mayank Yadav, who debuted in IPL 2024 and made an impression with his 150 km/h deliveries, is another exciting prospect being retained by LSG. His recent debut for India in the Bangladesh T20 series further solidified his reputation as a future star.
However, several high-profile players are expected to be released, including Quinton de Kock, Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Devdutt Padikkal, Kyle Mayers, and Deepak Hooda. KL Rahul, who was traded to LSG in 2022 for ₹17 crore, is also reportedly not in the retention plans and will be available in the IPL 2025 auction.
