Sri Lanka have won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in the ICC ODI World Cup on Monday (October 16) in Lucknow.
Kusal Mendis will act as the captain for the rest of the tournament as regular captain Dasun Shanaka is ruled out of the tournament due to injury. So, Shanaka’s replacement in the squad- Chamika Karunaratne is slotted into the main XI straight for the match. Sri Lanka make another forced change as young pacer Matheesha Pathirana is not fit to feature in the XI. Lahiru Kumara replaces him in the squad.
On the other hand, Australia name an unchanged XI for the match.
Both Australia and Sri Lanka lost their first two matches in the tournament.
