Bangladesh batted first after winning the toss in the Dhaka Test. However, the Tigers fell under pressure after losing several wickets in the beginning. Then Mushfiqur Rahim and Shahadat Hossain Dipu embarked on a mission to save the team from danger. Both were batting well. But the trouble started in the 41st over of Bangladesh's first innings.
Mushfiqur blocked a ball from Kyle Jamieson with the bat. However, as there was some possibility of that ball hitting the stumps, he removed the ball with his hand after stopping it with the bat, that's where the problem happened. There is no rule to move the ball with the hands in the cricket field, maximum use of bat or foot is allowed. As a result, New Zealand applied to the umpire for obstructing the field out.
After checking the TV replay several times, the umpire gave Mushfiqur out according to the rules of obstructing the field. After such a rare outing, heated discussions have started all over the world. Many people laughed at Mushfiqur's out. As always, Kolkata Police is trying to increase awareness among the public by using such outings.
Kolkata Police have given a post from their page through social media. There is a message with a special link to Mushfiqur's out in the picture. With all the tempting messages, sometimes such links are floating on everyone's phone, through social media. And by clicking on those links, the miscreants steal many valuable things by fooling people. Many times it is seen that the password of Facebook ID also goes to some miscreants. Incidents like fraud and money looting are often seen from there. Kolkata Police has made the people of Kolkata aware of that. And Mushfiq's picture has been used there.
This is not the first time that the Indian police have run such a humorous campaign. Many times before, the police of different states of India tried to create public awareness by exploiting people's interest in cricket.
Bangladesh were all out by scoring 172 runs in the first innings in the Dhaka Test. In response, New Zealand lost 5 wickets after batting for 55 runs in the late afternoon. Bangladesh is still ahead of New Zealand by 117 runs in the match.
