During the little window of time that exists between the Pakistan and West Indies Test series, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Alex Carey have been made available for their respective teams' upcoming Big Bash League (BBL) matches. On the other hand, Travis Head, who has been playing continuously since the ODI World Cup win, has been given a rest.

Khawaja and Labuschagne are both scheduled to play for the unbeaten Brisbane Heat against the Perth Scorchers at the Gabba on Wednesday. Carey, on the other hand, will be lining up for the Adelaide Strikers against the Hobart Hurricanes today.

"It will be good for the group to have Usman and Marnus back around the team, especially as we get into the business end of the competition," Heat coach Wade Seccombe said.

A Strikers statement added: "In consultation with Cricket Australia medical staff, Travis Head will not be available for Big Bash selection during the break between international Test series"

Prominent cricketers such as David Warner and Steve Smith are expected to adorn the BBL platform in the near future. Smith is scheduled to make his Sydney Sixers debut against the Sydney Thunder, whereas Warner, who is attending his brother's nuptials, intends to attend the match subsequent to his family holidays.
