JP Duminy has resigned from his position as South Africa's white-ball batting coach, citing personal reasons. Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed the news on Friday, December 6, through an official statement, indicating that the decision was mutual and takes effect immediately.

Duminy was appointed to the role in March 2023, marking a fresh chapter for South Africa's limited-overs cricket under head coach Rob Walter. His stint saw the Proteas reach the semifinals of the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. However, Duminy will now step down ahead of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to personal commitments.

In the statement, CSA acknowledged Duminy's contributions, saying.

“Cricket South Africa (CSA) announces that JP Duminy has stepped down from his role as the white-ball batting coach with immediate effect, following a mutual agreement with CSA based on personal reasons"

"JP Duminy, a stalwart of South African cricket, has been a key member of the limited-overs coaching staff since his appointment in March 2023. His contributions to the growth and development of the batting department within the national white-ball setup have been invaluable," the statement added.

Duminy, a former South African left-handed cricketer, had a distinguished playing career from 2004 to 2019, representing his country in 46 Tests, 199 ODIs, and 81 T20Is. His departure marks the end of a significant chapter in South African cricket, but CSA and Duminy agreed that this was the best course of action for both parties.
