Indian attacking player Jayant Yadav has agreed a short-term contract with Middlesex for the final four LV= Insurance County Championship games of the season.

33-year-old Indian national cricket team off-spinner Jayant Yadav has signed a contract with Middlesex for a short stint in the current LV= Insurance County Championship season.

The Indian spinner is available for selection by the club in the club's final four matches of the LV= Insurance County Championship against Essex, Lancashire, Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire.

Jayant Yadav has represented India in 6 matches in the longest format of the game, taking 16 wickets at an average of 29.06 and an economy of 3.38. He has also played two ODIs for India in which he took just one wicket. In total, the off-spinner has played 75 first-class matches and bagged 205 wickets.

“I am honored and excited to be joining the prestigious Middlesex County Cricket Club in the upcoming Championship matches and being part of its rich cricketing history. I enjoyed my experience playing county cricket last year and am excitedly looking forward to my new role at Middlesex and contributing to the club's success,” Yadav said in a club statement.

Notably, the spinner will be available for selection in Middlesex's upcoming game against Championship challengers Essex in Chelmsford. He will then play against Lancashire, Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire.

Middlesex Cricket Director Alan Coleman said: "With Pieter Malan returning to South Africa, we wanted to add another quality signing to the side ahead of the crucial four games that lay ahead of us in September."
