RR Official Statement on Sanju Samson’s Injury
The franchise revealed that Right-hander is still in the recovery phase and will not be traveling with the squad to Bengaluru. The statement read:
“He is currently undergoing recovery and will remain at the team’s home base with select RR medical staff. As part of his ongoing rehab process, he will not be travelling to Bengaluru for the upcoming match against RCB.”
Samson’s injury woes in IPL 2025 began earlier in the season when he hurt his finger forcing him to play solely as a batter in the opening matches against SRH. During his absence from the field Riyan Parag led the Royals in the first three games. Just as Samson regained his role as full-time captain a side strain during the match against Delhi Capitals once again put him on the sidelines.
He also missed the tight clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), which RR lost by just 2 runs. Now with another high-stakes fixture against RCB around the corner Samson’s absence will be a significant setback for the struggling Royals.
Despite injury interruptions, Samson has been among RR’s top performers this season playing 7 games Scored 224 runs at average 37.33 and strike rate of 143.59.
