Yashasvi Jaiswal of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) silenced his critics with a stunning century against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in an exciting 38th encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. 

Prior to this match, Jaiswal was struggling with his form, but he turned out to be the day's hero with a brilliant knock of 104 runs off just 60 balls. This brilliant performance not only helped RR win, but it also confirmed Jaiswal's dominance in the T20I cricket.

Following his incredible century against MI that ended the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Jaiswal shared a touching moment. Sharma appeared to be proud of the young player who had been having trouble finding his feet in the IPL this year, as evidenced by his embrace. Jaiswal had been a strong candidate to start for India in the T20 World Cup, but a run of poor performances in the first seven IPL matches had made him less confident of his future.

Yashasvi Jaiswal thanked the Rajasthan Royals team management during the post match presentation, especially Sangakkara (called Sanga sir) and Sanju Samson (known as Sanju bhai), for giving him chances to play. He said he always tries his best in practice, and he's really happy today.

"I really enjoyed from the start and I made sure I was watching the ball properly and playing proper cricketing shots. I’m trying to do what I am doing well, some days it comes good and some days it doesn’t, I’m not thinking much. I want to thank all my seniors the way they have guided me.”
