Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat suffered a left shoulder injury on Sunday during the training session and will miss the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

According to ESPNCricinfo, Unadkat will not continue playing in the competition after suffering a terrible fall in his follow-through on Sunday, April 30. The IPL's official Twitter account shared a footage of the left-arm seamer grimacing in pain as his arm was slung.

According to the report, Unadkat should be OK to play in the World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia on June 7 at London's The Oval.

Unadkat reportedly visited one of the expert specialists hired by the BCCI in Mumbai for scans. The medical personnel on the board advised the Super Giants to take Unadkat out of the IPL, thus the team made that decision. He will go to Bengaluru to join the National Cricket Academy's (NCA) rehabilitation program in order to be ready for the WTC final.

The injury to Unadkat happened on the same day that KL Rahul damaged his right leg chasing a ball in the outfield during the second over of their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rahul is currently undergoing tests to determine the full degree of his injuries. However, he will miss LSG’s next match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Wednesday (May 3).
