India's cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, will participate in an additional fixture during their year-end tour of Australia, following the announcement of a two-day day-night match against the Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra. This exciting warm-up game is set to take place at Manuka Oval on November 30-December 1, strategically scheduled between the first Test in Perth (November 22-26) and the second day-night Test in Adelaide (December 6-10).

Australia and India have strong economic, cultural, and community ties that show in their long-lasting cricketing ties. This match is part of a larger celebration of these ties. The 2024 Prime Minister's XI match is sure to make the much-anticipated tour even more exciting.

Reflecting on the significance of the match, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese highlighted the strong relationship between the two countries. "As friends and partners, the relationship between Australia and India has never been closer," said Albanese. He also shared his admiration for Indian cricket legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Anil Kumble, and Sachin Tendulkar, expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming clash in Canberra.

"It was an absolute honour to stand alongside Prime Minister Modi at the Fourth Test in Ahmedabad last year and celebrate both our nations’ love for cricket.
