Colombo Strikers have signed opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq for the upcoming Lanka Premier League season. The Pakistan cricketer has replaced Ireland's wicketkeeper-batter Lorcan Tucker in the Colombo Strikers team.

Colombo Strikers have signed opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq for the upcoming Lanka Premier League season. The Pakistan cricketer has replaced Ireland's wicketkeeper-batter Lorcan Tucker in the Colombo Strikers team.

Imam-ul-Haq has scored 2,143 runs in 78 games in his T20 career so far. The top batter has scored 20 half-centuries in T20s. Speaking on the move to Colombo Strikers, Imam-ul-Haq said: “The Colombo Strikers have a fantastic team and I am very excited to join the squad. I'm really looking forward to having a great experience playing with many, many talented players."

Babar also welcomed Imam to the squad: “Imam is a very talented cricketer. His new addition to our team is a big boost for us. The young players in our team will also have the chance to learn from him.”

Colombo Strikers head coach Simon Helmot stated during a virtual press conference that he is excited to be working with Babar and that they have a stable squad.

"We have a balanced squad. Sagar and the team did a great job on auction day. It will be exciting to work with Babar Azam. There are quite a few young players in our group.
