The latest big ICC tournament, ICC Test Championship is off to a good start with three series are being played at the moment. After a long wait the much-awaited treat for Test cricket fans, ICC Test Championship is on the floors now and it has started with a greater way in the form of one of the greatest Test rivalry in the game, The Ashes between England and Australia. The mega tournament has sought the attention of as many as possible in the starting phase of it within less than a month time. Nine teams are competing in the mega league for two years of time and the finalists will be selected on the basis of ICC Test Rankings. As stated earlier, it's a great way to start the tournament with one of the greatest Test rivalries, the Ashes. As usual, the series provided a much-needed start to the mega league. The tournament shifted the mood of fans into Test cricket after a long season of white-ball cricket. Australia started the tournament well with a huge win by 251 runs in the first Test which was also the comeback Test for Steve Smith and David Warner. The Test was never sort of anticipations as many off-field incidents and on-field incidents made it a big one. Following the series opener, the second Test was ended in a draw due to the rain. But that was also a dramatic draw as Australians fought hard to make it a draw in the fifth day after losing nearly two days of play in the first two Tests. The final session of play there provided the absolute pleasure of the format. Then the third Test which is still the hottest topic and nothing more to elaborate on that. Coming to sub-continent from England, Sri Lanka are hosting New Zealand for three-match Test series as the Test Championship opener for both teams. The hosts had a memorable series opener in Galle by beating the visitors by six wickets chasing a target of 268. That was indeed another shock to Kiwis when they were still in the dramatic World Cup Final defeat. But the beauty of the Test cricket came in the second Test. New Zealand made a stunning come back with an innings win in the second Test which is heavily affected by rain and nearly four full sessions lost in the match. With that come back win New Zealand also opened their account in the ICC Test Championship. Then the third one, the two-match Test series between West Indies and India hosted by West Indies. As expected India won the first Test comfortably with a bigger margin of 318 runs. That match too witnessed some fantastic display of batting and bowling, especially Jasprit Bumrah's spell in the fourth innings when he took another five-wicket haul with the red ball. The three-Test series have provided the needed start for the big tournament like ICC Test Championship. The good start will surely provide the fans with some fond memories in the entire tournament.
