Gujarat Titans pacer Mohit Sharma bowled brilliantly throughout the entire Indian Premier League (IPL). Mohit's comeback after not getting a team in the IPL for a few consecutive seasons was great. Even the stage was set for him to become a hero by winning the team in the final.

However, after bowling the first four balls of the last over brilliantly, the last two balls weren’t that good and he conceded 10 runs and Gujarat lost the match. Due to rain in the final of the IPL, the match was played on Reserve Day. Even overs were reduced. Chennai needed 13 runs in the last over of the innings.

Mohit gave only three runs in the first four balls. However, Ravindra Jadeja hit the fifth ball for a six. Four runs were still required. Jadeja snatched the win with a four in the last ball. But Mohit could have brought Gujarat the taste of winning the second trophy. At the end of the tournament, he said, he could not sleep the whole night on the day of the final.

"I couldn’t sleep. Sochta raha kya alag karta joh match jeet jaate (Kept wondering what could I do differently that we would have won). What if I could have bowled this ball or that ball? It’s not a nice feeling now. Somewhere something is missing but I’m trying to move on. I ran and tried to bowl (yorker) again. I just wanted to be focused and back myself. Whole IPL I have done that. The ball landed where it shouldn’t have and Jadeja got his bat. I tried, I tried my best," he told the Indian Express.

Mohit, however, was advised by Hardik Pandya before bowling the last two balls. Basically, Ashish Nehra's advice was given to Mohit. However, Mohit is not blaming anyone. He had already decided what he wanted to bowl. But that did not happen in the last ball, that's why Jadeja hit a four.

"My mind was very clear in what I wanted to do. In the nets, I had practiced such situations and I have been in such scenarios before too. So I said let me bowl all balls yorkers and was backing my instinct. I was picked from nowhere. I remember speaking to Ani bhai before the season what shall I do? Shall I continue or not. He had said I should try to play. I had come with no expectation and just have continued to work hard,” he added.
