Player of the match and Kolkata Knight Riders all rounder Andre Russell spoke after a dramatic match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. KKR set a target of 223 for RCB to pursue. After the pendulum swinging many a times, RCB lost after coming agonizingly close to the target, as they lost by 1 run.

While Russell scored 27 of 20, it was his bowling efforts that bagged him the player of the match award. Russell picked up 3 crucial wickets while giving away 25 runs in 3 overs.

Russell said, "I always back my bowling. Getting the ball in a crucial time, I know I have to come good. Happy for the two points."

Russell added, "When I was batting earlier, change-ups was difficult to hit. As a bowler, that is what I tried - length ball, slower cutters, it was gripping on the surface."

While speaking about his bowling performace, Russell said, "I was happy to get the two set batters out and that's what changed the game. When I look at the bowling equation, Harshit had one, Starcy had one, I had two. So my aim was to bowl an important over and give Starcy as much to defend. I was looking to bowl six deliveries at DK and mixing up with the short ones and slower ones. Worked well tonight."
