Harry Brook delivered a breathtaking performance in the ongoing first Test between England and Pakistan at Multan, scoring a mammoth 317 runs in just 322 deliveries. His innings, which included 28 fours and 3 sixes, has not only put England in a dominant position but also shattered a long-standing record at the venue.

Brook's remarkable triple century surpassed Virender Sehwag’s 20-year-old record for the highest individual score in Multan. Sehwag had scored 300 off 278 balls back in 2008, but Brook’s innings, achieved in 310 balls, now stands as the second-fastest triple ton in Test cricket. Only Sehwag’s knock remains faster, retaining the top spot.

Brook's historic innings also saw him join an elite list of English batters who have crossed the 300-run milestone in Test cricket. He became the sixth English player to score a triple century, following legends such as Andy Sandham, Len Hutton, Wally Hammond, Graham Gooch, and Bill Edrich.

The 25-year-old batter’s marathon innings was part of a record-breaking 454-run partnership for the fourth wicket alongside Joe Root. Root, who played his part with a sublime 262 from 375 balls, helped England post a monumental total of 823/7 before declaring on Day 4.

This Test saw England’s batters dominate right from the start. After Root was dismissed by Salman Agha, Brook carried on to reach his triple century before eventually getting out for 317 runs. His feat has etched his name into the history books as one of England’s finest innings in the longest format of the game.
