Gujrat Titans have beaten Mumbai Indians by 6 runs on Sunday (24th March) at Ahmedabad. Contributions from Sai Sudarshan and Shubman Gill with the ball and disciplined bowling from the GT bowlers handed them their first victory of the season.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first. Being inserted to bat first, they lost Wriddhiman Saha earlier on as Jasprit Bumrah chopped on his stumps. Shubman Gill had a good start of his innings but couldn’t carry on, as he fell on 31 off 22 balls.

Sai Sudarshan carried the innings of GT and scored a fine 45 off 39 balls. At the backend of the innings, Rahul Tewatia's breezy 22 off 15 balls helped them cruise pass to over 160 and post 168 on the board.

In reply, Azmatullah Omarzai removed Ishan Kishan earlier on for a 4 ball duck. But Rohit Sharma had other plans, he whacked the GT bowlers and didn’t let them to get settled. He raced to his way to 43 from just 29 balls. However Sai Kishore removed him to bring GT back into the game.

Dewald Brevis also carried the innings with a gritty 46 off 38 balls. Mumbai Indians needed 27 off the last two overs. Spencer Johnson came and picked up two crucial wickets at the crucial junction of the match and gave away just 8 runs. And then Umesh Yadav gave a check to remaining 19 runs to hand GT a 6 run victory over 5 time IPL champions Mumbai Indians.
