Bangladesh cricket fraternity is overjoyed with U19 team's World Cup win on Sunday which marked one of the greatest days of this nation's cricketing history.

The Young Tigers chased down 170 (revised target) with three wickets remaining in the Final against previous edition winners India U19s at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. Like any other player or support staff, Bangladesh U19 team's strength and conditioning coach Richard Stonier was proud of his boys' display in the last one year when Bangladesh U19s played in Asia Cup Final, beat England and New Zealand away from home and lastly winning the World Cup unbeaten. The English coach feels it's a dream come true for him as well like all the others involved. "It's probably been the greatest 12 months of my life," an excited Stonier said to the official broadcaster after the Final match. "These boys are fantastic - off the pitch and on the pitch. They're so respectful. They look up to me. We have formed a great family, relationship. Coming from England, I could've never imagined this. It's a dream come true for me." Stonier believes the result is well deserved for Akbar Ali's side for what they have done in the past year. "But this is about the boys. This is their moment. They deserve it for all the hardwork they've done over the last 12 months. This moment is theirs. They deserve every bit of this," he added. Stonier is well-known in the dressing room for bringing enough energy to the squad. He started working in Bangladesh from 2018 when he was handed a role for the High Performance Unit.
