The match between England and Scotland has been abandoned due to rain. This is the first match of this ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 to be abandoned.

Both the teams now share one point each.
Choosing to bat first, Scotland started their innings off to a flier. Michael Jones set the tone for Scottish with his brilliant stroke making, while George Munsey took his time to get settled. Scotland raced their way to 49 inside the powerplay.

Rain was irrupting and the match was stopped for a long period of time with the scoreboard saying 51-0(6.2). When the match started the match was reduced to 10 overs each. Scotland had 22 balls left in their arsenal and they took 39 runs to finish on 90 runs in 10 overs.

Munsey was unbeaten on 41* off just 31 balls, including 2 sixes and four boundaries. While Jones made a fine 45 off only 30 deliveries at a strike rate of 150. Due to DLS method the revised target for England was 109.

However, England couldn’t came to bat due to multiple rain breaks and after waiting for a long time, match referee was forced to call off the game and both the teams have shared one point each.
