Sri Lanka started the day being well ahead of Ireland and they didn't missed the mojo as they continued to keep their truck going. They scored a record breaking 704 losing only 3 wickets before declaring their innings.

The overnight batters Nishan Madhushanaka and Kusal Mendis absolutely outbatted the visitors. They together made 268 runs in the record breaking partnership. While both of the batters notched up their double hundreds. Nishan Madhushanaka scored his maiden test hundred as well as his maiden test double ton. He made 205 out of 339 balls with 22 boundaries and a six. His partner, Kusal Mendis put on a show on the batting paradise. He scored 245 runs only from 291 balls, smacking 18 boundaries and 11 gigantic sixes.
Angelo Mathews coming out to bat at number four, he too didn’t miss the chance to contribute and score some runs under his belt. He too notched up hundred and finished his innings for an unbeaten 100* off 114 balls, striking at 87.72.

Before the stumps, Ireland had to negotiate 22 overs. They saw and negotiated losing 2 wickets. One of their opener James Mccollum and another one their other opener Moor. Ireland finished the day for 54-2. Rames Mendis and Prabath Jaysuriya took those wickets apiece.

Ireland are trailing by 158 runs and have got 8 wickets in hands. Tomorrow is the fifth day of the match and Ireland will be looking to save the test. On the othet hand, Sri Lanka will be eyeing to bundle Ireland up tomorrow to clean sweep the visitors.
