England have suffered an injury decline ahead of their upcoming four-game T20I series against New Zealand. Their fast bowler Josh Tongue was ruled out of the series due to an injury. Veteran bowler Chris Jordan has replaced him in the England squad.

Tongue, who was set to make his limited overs debut this summer, suffered the injury while playing for the Manchester Originals on current edition The Hundred. The right-arm pacemaker recorded seven wickets in five games this year with a 17.85.

On the other hand, the substitute – Jordan – has represented England in all three formats. He picked 96 T20I wickets with an average of 27.32. He was also part of England's successful campaign at the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Jordan also had a good run at this year's The Hundred Men's Competition. He had 107 runs in the tournament with an average of 53.5 and a batting average of 201.88. The all-rounder also picked eight wickets with an average of 10.75 and an economy of 6.88.
