Mumbai Indians' star batter, Rohit Sharma, has been the focal point following the team's final match of the season against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. The excitement isn't solely about his impressive innings of 68 off 38 balls; speculation is also rife that this might have been Rohit's last game in a Mumbai Indians jersey at the Wankhede.
Amid a controversy-filled 2024 season, several former cricketers have speculated that this could be Rohit's final appearance in MI colors. Adding to the speculation, one of the team's senior players, Piyush Chawla, posted a rather cryptic message on his official Instagram account.

In the comment section, some fans feared the worst as Chawla wrote, "best for the last." However, it could simply refer to MI's final match of the campaign rather than being Rohit's last game for the franchise. Despite Rohit's 38-ball 68, the team suffered an 18-run loss, ending the group stage at the bottom with 8 points.
Adding to the rumors, former India captain and bowling legend Anil Kumble hinted that Rohit might leave MI after the 2024 season. Kumble suggested that several teams might be seeking new leadership ahead of the next edition, further fueling speculation about Rohit's potential exit from the Mumbai Indians.
