The next season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is scheduled to be held in January-February next year. The teams have started to prepare ahead of BPL. Already, the teams are bringing local and foreign stars to the team. Chattogram Challengers has retained Shuvagata Hom who was the captain of last season. The team has retained pace-bowling all-rounder Ziaur Rahman and spinner Nihaduzzaman also. 

Shuvagata did well with bat and ball even though he could not take the team in good condition in the last season. He scored 170 runs at an average of 28.33 with the bat. The strike-rate was also excellent at 145.29.

Besides, the team has retained experienced pace-bowling all-rounder Ziaur Rahman. Ziaur scored 151 runs at an average of 30.20 in seven innings in the last season. The strike-rate was also eye-catching 154.08. He also made an important contribution with the ball. The team will expect a similar performance from him again.

Last season's big discovery was spinner Nihaduzzaman. He performed exceptionally well for Chittagong. He was the ninth-highest wicket taker in the tournament last season. This left-arm spinner took 12 wickets in nine matches. That too at an average of just 17.66 and an economy of 7.22.

The franchise has also included Mohammad Haris and Najibullah Zadran in a direct contract Both are well-known faces in T20 cricket. They play in franchise leagues around the world.
