BCB to introduce new fields and turfs
Cricket in Bangladesh means only Mirpur. Month after month, year after year cricketers stay in Mirpur. Most of the international matches are organized at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The complaint of not having a field with adequate facilities was always there in the country's cricket. But this time that disappointment is going to decrease to some extent.

As per BCB’s decision, new ground will be purchased in Dhaka and outside Dhaka. Turf will also be brought along with that.
After today's (June 12) board meeting, BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon said, "We have decided to buy some fields. Today we have given approval from the board for two fields. In Dhaka, one is 30 bigha, another is like 37 acres. We are now moving into the buying process. One is located at Pubail, the other is near Purbachal. Along with this, we have received offers of places in Chattogram and Bogera. We have already approved the Chattogram one and we are looking at Bogura now. If the price is right, we will buy that too. Now we are giving real attention to facilities.”
Besides, Papon added, "The board's plan for the design of the Sheikh Hasina Stadium is an international tender for civil construction in September-October, we will try to do it earlier. We will select who will be given the job within this year.”
Talking about the introduction of turf and Fatullah stadium, Papon further said, "Compared to the turf that is used in Australia or other places, ours is old. Now we have approved 4 turfs which will be suitable for our game now. Besides, BCB has taken initiatives to (renovate) both (indoor and outdoor) grounds at Fatullah. We can do it if the soil is thrown away.”
If these initiatives of BCB are implemented, it is expected that the complaints about the country's cricket ground will decrease to some extent.
