Even though Andre Adams' deal doesn't end until February 2026, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is said to have started looking for a new fast bowling coach.  The Daily Sun says that the board is thinking about ending Adams' job early because they are worried about how well he is doing with the national team.

BCB has shortlisted two former international fast bowlers for the role—Pakistan’s Umar Gul and Australia’s Shaun Tait.

Andre Adams was hired on a long-term basis to be Bangladesh's fast bowling coach, but sources within the BCB say that the board is not happy with how he has helped the team's pace attack.  Because of this, they are constantly looking for someone to replace him long before his deal ends.

One of the top BCB officials told The Daily Sun that talks to hire a new coach have already started.  There are now two strong candidates: Umar Gul and Shaun Tait. Both have coached at the international and club levels before.

Umar Gul quickly became known as a good fast-bowling coach after he retired from international cricket in 2020.  Besides the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), he has also worked as a fast bowling coach for the Afghanistan National Team and the Pakistan National Team.

Because of his recent success with Pakistan's fast bowlers, he is a good choice to lead Bangladesh's team.

Shaun Tait has been a coach for a little longer than Gul. He has already been the fast bowling coach for the Pakistan National Team.

Tait was also recently active in Bangladesh cricket. During the last Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season, he was the head coach of the Chattogram Challengers.  Chattogram came in second place under his leadership.  Several reports say that BCB officials tried to start talking to him during the BPL season.

Along with his experience as a player, Tait has also coached the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Along with the look for a fast bowling coach, BCB has chosen to keep Mohammad Salahuddin on as the senior assistant coach.  The Daily Sun says that the legal contract will not be signed until after Eid, even though all verbal deals have been finalized.
