The No-Objection Certificate (NOC) that Mujeeb Ur Rahman had been playing for with the Melbourne Renegades for the remainder of the Big Bash League (BBL) has been withdrawn by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), which means that his season with the team has come to an end.

After Mujeeb, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Naveen-ul-Haq informed the board that they did not plan to sign central contracts for 2024, the ACB made the announcement on December 25 that they would be sanctioned. Mujeeb was also included on the list of those who would be sanctioned. For the following two years, the three players were informed that they would be regarded "non-eligible" for NOCs, and that any NOCs that they now held would be withdrawn.

Naveen and Farooqi later admitted their mistake to the board and sought permission to play for Afghanistan again. As a result, ACB kept these two in the squad for the ongoing T20I series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). On the other hand, Mujeeb was not kept in the squad.

Mujeeb was in Australia to play for the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash. ACB canceled the NOC given to him to play there. As a result, Mujeeb did not play in the last Melbourne derby for the Renegades. This time Mujeeb is returning to the country leaving the Big Bash unfinished.
