Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto says that Litton Das was not dropped from the playing XI because of the off-form rather, he was rested for the last two T20Is and it was a pre-made plan. He also adds that in the upcoming days, the openers will be chosen according to the opponents.

Litton has been in poor form for a long time. Even in the recently-concluded Zimbabwe series, he scored 1,23 and 12 in three matches. His off form is also a cause for concern for the team. In the first three matches of the Zimbabwe series, he and Tanzid Hasan Tamim opened for the team. Then when Soumya Sarkar recovered from the injury and returned to the squad, Litton was not in the main XI in the last two matches, Soumya opened with Tanzid.

Shanto said, “We have tried everything in this series. The plan was to give Litton a two-match break to give Soumya a chance. All 3 have a chance to be in the XI, we will choose considering the opponent.”

Shanto also talks about the wicket of Chattogram. Generally, the wicket of Chattogram always produces runs but this time in the Zimbabwe series, it was tough to bat on the Chattogram wicket. “Chattogram usually has very good wickets. It was very challenging to bat with the new ball this year. If you look at it from outside, you will think that there are a lot of runs on Chattogram's wicket.
