Australia will be taking on Oman to kickoff their campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The ninth match of this edition will start at 6 30 am Bangladesh Standard Time.
Australia are the current ODI World Cup champions. They are also the current winners of the Test Championship. Australia will be looking forward to be the current T20 World Cup champions as well.
They certainly have the squad to do so. With David Warner, who will be playing his last World Cup, opening alongside Travis Head, who had a wonderful IPL with Sunrisers Hyderabad. After these two explosive batters, Australia have the likes of captain Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Tim David in their arsenal. If these lot manage to get going, they can rip apart any bowling lineup.
The Aussies have an equally impressive bowling lineup. With Mitchell Starc leading the way alongside Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. They also have quality spinners like Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar.
Oman, who lost their first match against Namibia, will be looking to put up a much better display against the Aussies. Oman bowled brilliantly against Namibia, but their poor batting and not being able to hold nerves at the Super Over cost them in the end.
Australia (possible) 1 David Warner, 2 Travis Head, 3 Mitchell Marsh (capt), 4 Glenn Maxwell, 5 Marcus Stoinis, 6 Tim David, 7 Matthew Wade (wk), 8 Pat Cummins, 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Adam Zampa, 11 Josh Hazlewood
Oman (possible) 1 Kashyap Prajapati, 2 Naseem Khushi (wk), 3 Aqib llyas (capt), 4 Zeesham Maqsood, 5 Khalid Kail, 6 Ayaan Khan, 7 Mohammad Nadeem, 8 Mehran Khan, 9 Shakeel Ahmed, 10 Kaleemullah, 11 Bilal Khan
