West Indies have completed an annihilation job over Uganda, as they beat the African side by a massive margin of 134 runs on Sunday (9th June). A collective batting performances from the Windies have put on a above par total of 173 on the board. In reply, Akeal Hossain ran riot through the Ugandan lineup to wrap up their innings on a meagre 39 runs and handed Windies 134 runs victory.

Choosing to bat first, Windies had a tepid start with Ramjani removed Brandon King. Johnson Charles held on one end to finish up with a gutsy 44 off 42 deliveries. Wk-batter Pooran made 22 off 17 before caught and bowled to Masaba.

Captain Powell played a quick-fire cameo and brought Windies back in the game. None of the batters could score a fifty and neither of them scored big as Uganda kept fighting hard with picking up regular wickets.

But the last over onslaught from Andre Russell took the game away from Uganda and spoiled their party of hard work they put. Rusell finished on scoring a brilliant 30 off 17 balls to help his side post 173 on the board.

In reply, Akeal Hosein triggered the collapse as he finished with a fifer just inside the 7 overs. All of the dismissals were either LBW or bowled. Ugandan batters batted like gully cricketers and Windies bowlers had lateral movement which helped them reduce the Ugandan innings to a meagre 39 runs only.

Akeal Hosein returned his figures with a fifer conceding away only 11 runs. Alzarri Joseph also had 2 wickets and others chipped in with one wicket each. Windies now on standing second and they'll fancy their chances to reach to the Super-Eight of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.
