Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan congratulated Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Muhammad Rizwan after the trio bagged ICC awards. Taking to Twitter, the Afghan leg spinner paid tribute to the Pakistani cricketers and wished them all the best for the future.
Pakistani all-format captain Babar Azam was named ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year, wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan was named ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year while Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi won the ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year award.
The International Cricket Council has declared Mohammad Rizwan T20I Cricket Player of the Year after his phenomenal run in 2021. The stylish hitter excelled in his 6 ODIs, averaging a 67.50.
In addition, Shaheen Shah Afridi has won cricket's most prestigious award, becoming the first Pakistani to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for his 78 wickets in 36 games in all formats.
Rashid Khan will appear in PSL 7 starting January 27th. Rashid will play under Shaheen Afridi's captaincy as both cricketers will play for Lahore Qalandars.
The trio will be in action in the upcoming seventh season of the Pakistan Super League, which begins on January 27 in Karachi.
Babar will lead Karachi Kings, Shaheen will captain Lahore Qalandars while Mohammad Rizwan will skipper defending champions Multan Sultans.
