Playing at BKSP Ground No. 3, Abahani won the toss and opted to bowl first. Agrani Bank got off to a steady start but were interrupted by rain at 24.4 overs, having reached 109 for 3.
Captain Imrul Kayes remained unbeaten with a composed 48 off 52 balls, while Imran Uzzaman contributed 29 from 49 deliveries. Cameos from Amit Hasan (15 off 13) and Marshall Ayub (4 off 15)* helped nudge the score forward.
From the bowling side, Rakibul Hasan, Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, and Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby picked up a wicket apiece.
Due to the rain, the match was shortened to 22 overs, and Abahani were set a revised target of 157 runs. But the chase couldn’t have started worse — both openers, Parvez Hossain Emon and Shahriar Kamal, fell for golden ducks in the very first over.
Then came the rescue act. No. 3 batter Jishan Alam turned the tide with a blitzkrieg 46 off just 27 balls, including some breathtaking strokes that put Abahani back on track.
SM Meherob added a crucial 30 off 25, while Mohammad Shamsul Islam (25 off 18)* and Mahfuzur Rabby (20 off 12)* calmly saw the chase through.
Despite some early excitement, Abahani crossed the finish line with 4 wickets in hand and 16 balls remaining.
For Agrani Bank, Robiul Haque and Taibur Rahman picked up two wickets each.
