Bangladesh thumped Pakistan by 6 wickets in 3rd place game of Asian Games 2023. Yasir Ali's magnificent 34 off just 16 deliveries and Afif Hossain's 20 off 11 took Bangladesh home after Pakistan's 48. The match was reduced to 5 overs due to heavy downpour.
Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mirza Baig played a quick-fire knock of 32 off just 18 balls with a fine strike rate of 177.78. Khushdil made 14 off 10 and Pakistan scored 48 in alloted 5 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh lost their opener Zakir Hasan and skipper Saif Hasan got ducks respectively. Bangladesh needed 20 off the last over and the set batter Afif went back to the pavilion. And then Yasir came and hit 6, 2, 6 and 2 before perishing off the penultimate ball. Bangladesh needed one boundary in the last ball to win the bronze and Rakibul smacked the magnificent shot and won it for Bangladesh.
Yasir Ali Played a glorious innings of 34 off just 16 balls and was aided by Afif Hossain's brilliant 20 off 11 deliveries which helped Bangladesh win Bronze medal. The girls too won Bronze and now the boys too won Bronze medal in Asian Games 2023.
