New Zealand won the final ODI by 47 runs and avoided the clean sweep as Pakistan won the ODI series by 4-1.

New Zealand electing to bat first Kiwis had a brisk start. Credit to Will young and his fearless approach. Will Young made a fantastic 87 off only 91 balls with 8 boundaries and 2 massive sixes. While on the other hand, other opener batter Tom Blundell made 15 off 22 balls. After the departure of Blundell, Henry Nichols had some time with Young as he scored 23 runs before seeing himself in the hands of Rizwan. Skipper Tom Latham took the rein as Latham-Young duo added 74 runs together. Latham perished after scoring a breezy 59 from 58 balls.
Will Young too was gone at the stroke of his 87. Mark Chapman took the rein as he sledgehammered the Pakistani bowlers for fun. He raced to 43 off only 33 balls before Shadab Khan took the wicket of him. Rachin Ravindra and Cole McConchie's 28 and 26 respectively gave New Zealand a total of 299 runs on the board.

Shaheen Afridi was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets, while Usama Mir and Shadab Khan got 2 apiece. The other wicket was taken by Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Chasing 300, Pakistan faltered earlier of their innings as they lost Shan Masood for 7 and Babar Azam for 1. While Mohammad Rizwan too was insipid on that night as he scored only 9 from 15 deliveries. Pakistan was stuttering for 52-3. Fakhar Zaman scored a while as he made a sedate 33 of 64 balls. After the departure of their top four, Agha Salman and Ifitkhar Ahmed came as rescue. They together made 97 runs before Agha nicked himself off to Henry Shipley. Iftikhar Ahmed fought hard and tried everything to cross the line but was unable to do so. Iftikhar Ahmed put on a show at Karachi National Stadium.

Iftikhar scored a stunning 94 off 72 balls with a strike rate of 130.56. He smacked 8 boundaries and 2 massive sixes. But end of the day the batters went for pavilion and Pakistan lost the match by 47 runs.

Henry Shipley was named as the player of the match for his 3 wicket haul. And Fakhar Zaman was named as the player of the series for his 363 runs at an average of 90.75.
