Percy Abeysekera was a huge supporter of Sri Lankan cricket. He supported the cricketers off the field and was often seen in the gallery. Abeysekera died on October 30 at the age of 87. Je will never again be seen supporting the team in the gallery at a Sri Lanka match.
To honor him, the Sri Lankan cricketers have entered the field wearing black badges in the ongoing match against India. Even before Sri Lanka got Test status, Abeysekera was shouting in support of the team. But in the future, the Lankans will never be seen in the match gallery.
