After a great start in the Bangabandhu T20 Cup, Minister Group Rajshahi have lost its way in the middle of the tournament. They lost four matches in a row which created a doubt over their place in the playoffs. Team captain Najmul Hossain Shanto sees little mistakes as a reason for this failure. In the 14th match of the tournament, Gemcon Khulna defeated Rajshahi by 5 wickets on Sunday (December 6). Rajshahi scored 145 runs with Shanto’s 55-run innings and expected win at one stage of the match. But opponent team captain Mahmudullah Riyad’s all-rounding performance gave them straight four defeat. “We had a good start. But we couldn’t make a big run in the middle over. We couldn't do what we were supposed to do after a good start. There was a shortage of 10-15 runs. We may have tried to take the game deeper,” Rajshahi captain Shanto said in the post-match interview. According to him, the result of the match could have been in favor of Rajshahi if they had played a normal game. “If we played normal, it would be good maybe. We were more defensive. We could have done better if wehad played normal cricket,” he said. "We have lost four matches. We are giving away one or two overs in each match. One or two overs are getting worse, either in batting or bowling. We will try to minimize these mistakes in the next match. Overall we are playing good cricket. We are losing because of some silly small mistakes,” Shanto concluded.
