In the third ODI between India and Sri Lanka at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, a heated exchange between Indian star batter Virat Kohli and Sri Lankan pacer Asitha Fernando drew significant attention. The tension erupted after the fifth over, showcasing the fierce competition on the field.

Fernando bowled a length delivery that hit Kohli's bat on the leading edge. The ball went flying past the backward point man and over the fence. Kohli held off the next ball, which was a length ball outside off stump. This made Kohli and Fernando stare fiercely, worsening the drama on the field.

Despite the heated moment, Kohli demonstrated sportsmanship after the match. During the post-match handshake, he appeared in good spirits, exchanging smiles and words with Fernando, showing mutual respect.

After Kohli's dismissal, India struggled to stabilize their innings. Sri Lankan all-rounder Dunith Wellalage delivered a match-winning performance, and India were bowled out for just 138 runs, losing the match by a massive 110 runs within 27 overs.
