During the second Test between Team India and Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, social media buzzed with reports claiming that a famous Bangladeshi fan, Tiger Robi, was assaulted by Indian supporters. Early reports painted a chaotic picture (on Twitterx) , suggesting that Robi was attacked in the stands, leading to a medical emergency. However, these allegations were soon dismissed by the Uttar Pradesh Police, who clarified that Robi’s health had deteriorated due to the intense heat inside the stadium.

A viral video showed Robi struggling to speak, surrounded by police officials and medical staff as he pointed to injuries on his body. However He was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Robi has since reversed his earlier claims, acknowledging that it was the heat, not an assault, that led to his hospitalisation. "My health deteriorated, and the police brought me to the hospital for treatment. I am feeling better now," Robi said, confirming that the authorities swiftly took action to ensure his well-being.
