Western Australia spinner Ashton Agar showcased immense courage during a Sheffield Shield match against Victoria in Melbourne by batting one-handed after sustaining a serious shoulder injury.

Agar, suffering from an Acromioclavicular (AC) joint injury to his left shoulder, bravely came out to bat at No.11 with his team on the verge of defeat, trailing by just 105 runs with one wicket left.

With Western Australia at 310-9, Agar joined centurion Joel Curtis (119*), even though he struggled to grip the bat properly due to his injury. Despite his limited movement, the duo added 15 crucial runs, extending the lead to 120. Agar faced five deliveries before fast bowler Sam Elliott (4-47) bowled him with a full delivery, ending his valiant stint at the crease.

Agar’s determination, despite taking two blows on his hips and narrowly ducking a bouncer, left spectators in awe. Commentator Adam White highlighted the severity of Agar’s injury, stating, “Even the way he’s walking out here, Agar — his arm was in a sling yesterday. And you can see that left arm, the way he’s holding it, that’s not ideal. This is extraordinary.”
