England has achieved a 2-0 lead in the five match Test series defeating India by an innings and 159 runs. Rain ruled the horizon all along the days and English seamers reigned at Lord’s perplexing the whales of subcontinent batting aces, the result sounds candied for the bunches of home team supporters resting in galleries amidst brisk showers as England gained a massive win against visiting India by an innings and 159 runs in the fourth day of the second Test. James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes replayed their first innings performances, teased each and every Indian batsmen as visiting side’s total in the second innings were added by 23 runs from their first innings total, all out scoring 130 runs replying to England’s 289 runs lead. Murali Vijay showed the consecutive ducks in the match and Lokesh Rahul, the other opener was also back in the pavilion at the team’s total of 13. Ace pacer James Anderson claimed both the wickets simultaneously. India went into lunch leaving Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara at the crease. The initial post lunch overs were dominated by Stuart Broad. He sent Pujara back after scoring a laborious 17 off 87. India collapsed all the while as Broad uprooted the opposition skipper Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik in consecutive deliveries. Hardik Pandya and Ravichandran Ashwin put up some fifty plus partnership for India to take the team’s total to cross the hundred run mark. Ashwin was unbeaten scoring 33 off 48 balls, the highest in India’s second innings. James Anderson wrapped up the tail shattering Kuldeep Yadav’s stumps for not and trapping Mohammad Shami leg before wicket before scoring. As the last batsman Ishant Sharma became the victim of Chris Woakes, Anderson might be deprived of another fifer like in the first innings of India. The fourth morning started at Lord’s with Woakes and Sam Curran’s partnership. They were adding in the overnight total of 357/6. After the two went on to elevate their partnership to 76 runs, England declared at 396/7. Chris Woakes was unbeaten scoring 137 runs. The match had to be stopped a couple of times throughout the day due to rains. England now lead the five-match series 2-0 and will be looking to seal a series win at Trent Bridge.
